Job – Sheet Metal Fabricator (Aviation)

ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to sustained expansion we have an opportunity for a permanent full time Sheet Metal Fabricator located at Parafield Airport.
Under the guidance of a LAME you will fabricate and repair both aluminium and steel aircraft parts. You will be required to work independently, operate various machinery and tools, including shears, brakes, and welders, to shape and assemble parts while working alongside approximately 35 Engineers.
Whilst you will be responsible for your own quality checks on finished products a LAME will be required to sign all work produced to ensure it is airworthy.
For the right candidate Aerotech would support your successful completion of an aviation welding certificate.
We are ideally looking for a full time team member however if you have a preference for part time hours we would still encourage your application.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintaining a high level of workmanship and attention to detail to ensure the quality of finished products.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timelines are met.
• Utilise specialist tools and machinery to cut, bend, weld and assemble sheet metal parts.
• Assisting with aircraft maintenance including the removal, repair and installation of airframes.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Passion for the Aviation industry.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications as well as work to precise requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in either sheet metal or within the Aviation Industry.
• Current forklift licence, or willingness to obtain.
• A trade qualification in metal fabrication on Aeroskills would be highly advantageous.
